THAT WONDERFUL MOTHER OF MINE

(A Poem to my Mother)
The moon never beams without bringing me
dreams
Of that wonderful mother of mine.
The birds never sing but a message they bring
Of that wonderful mother of mine.
Just to bring back the time, that was so sweet to me,
Just to bring back the days, when I sat on her knee.
I pray every night to our Father above,
For that wonderful mother of mine.
I ask Him to keep her as long as He can
That - wonderful mother of mine.
There are treasures on earth, that made life seem worthwhile,
But there's none can compare to my mother's smile.
You are a wonderful mother, dear old Mother of mine.
You'll hold a spot down deep in my heart,
'Till the stars no longer shine.
Your soul shall live on forever,
On through the fields of time.
For there'll never be another to me,
Like that wonderful Mother of mine.

Thank you for popping into my little part of cyberspace, please let me tell you a little about myself: I am a Post-Operative Transsexual, I had my surgery done on 5th July 2004 at Charing Cross Hospital, Hammersmith, London, UK and my surgeon was Mr. James Bellringer, who is considered by many to be one of the best GRS (Gender Reassignment) surgeons, in the world. I look upon my surgery as having a major birth defect removed, because when I was born, my brain was female, but my secondary sexual characteristics were that of a male.
Please do NOT confuse Transsexuals with Transvestites or Cross-Dressers, there is simply no connection, in that a TV or a CD has no desire to change their appearance with such drastic surgical intervention, whereas a Transsexual either has to make the change, and have the all-too-often life-threatening surgical intervention, or risk severe depression, often ending in suicide, for a genuine Transsexual, it is really not a choice to undergo surgery, more an essential part of finally becoming the real person they were born as, to be able to look into a mirror and feel happy with the reflection in front of them. I hope the information in this website goes some small way to helping you, the reader, to understand the utter hell that we have to suffer, for many years of our lives, until we finally have the courage to accept that there is something wrong, and make the change.
I created this website so that you can read MY story, from my first childhood memories until now, it tells of the inner conflict between what I saw in the mirror and how I perceived myself to be, and it details all the steps I have taken to become the real me, it tells of the ridicule and rejection I have suffered, not only from the general public, but also from friends and even some family members. I wish to raise public awareness that we are NOT freaks of nature, Transsexualism is NOT an indulgence, it is NOT a choice we make for sexual purposes, it is a very real worldwide recognised medical condition, and sadly, many Transsexuals have failed along the way to their true selves, and sadly, have taken their own lives because of the inner conflict they have been subjected to.
"Cruel is the person who withholds the key to another's happiness"
